The Mokaya plantation is located in the region of Chiapas, which extends to the borders of Guatemala. Nearly 2,000 years before our era, the Mokayas, an indigenous fishing people, were already drinking a drink made from cocoa pulp or seeds: the world's first " fine chocolate", then called "kakawa".
